DJ has decided the time is right to move on to the next chapter of her life after working at Factor Forms & Labels for the past 35 years.
On Friday, November 1st, we celebrated her long time career by attending a special dinner in her honour. The dinner took place in the transformed plant warehouse. Everyone enjoyed visiting, cocktails, a delicious meal provided by V & Z Catering and an array of fabulous desserts made especially for DJ by coworkers. Ashley even showed off her baking skills by baking a "continuous form" cake!
There was a planned surprise for DJ when out of town retirees Al Cunningham, Wendy Dominicelli and Gavin MacLean showed up. Before dinner we heard nostalgic speeches from management and a heartfelt speech from DJ . Next, she was presented with a framed jersey proudly displaying the number of years worked and her last name. This is now hanging in the entrance of the Edmonton head office along with all past retiree jerseys.
Everyone who attended was given the opportunity to provide her with some "bucket list" suggestions and we hope she follows through with most of them. We will leave that up to her discretion!
We will definitely miss DJ's extensive knowledge, experience and cheezie binges! We are so happy that she can now enjoy the freedom of travel, golf, tai-chi, fishing and sleeping in whenever she likes.
Here's to a well-deserved and happy retirement!
